The Taffin estate in Vieux-Condé
This estate, which today stands as a noteworthy example of a sustainable and attractive district in the centre of Vieux-Condé, is located on the site of the grounds of the Taffin family’s chateau, which was destroyed at the end of the First World War by a terrible fire. In 1921, the Compagnie des Mines d’Anzin, which owned the land, decided to build a housing estate here to house its workers arriving from outside the area. This garden-estate is very typical of the architectural style of the Compagnie des Mines d’Anzin.
