Fresnes-sur-Escaut
The dispensary of Relief Society Minière formerly hosted the Great Offices of the Mines Company Thivencelles (1841-1944). The central pavilion dates from 1905 and its facade is inspired by the Mannerist architecture: pilaster, pediment, cartouche, column ... The arch that surmounts the portal is decorated with a motif presenting tools of minors: miner's hat (barette), picks, shovels ... Iron grates carry the initials SMT for Société des mines de Thivencelles. After the Nationalization of 1946, the offices are transformed to house a dispensary.
