The chapel of Sebourquiaux
Originally mediaeval, this chapel is dedicated to Saint Marie-Madeleine whose feast day is July 22. She is the patron saint of carders and barrel makers, a reference to the two main activities of Sebourg in the middle ages since at least the 12th century. Back in mediaeval times, the people of Sebourg were chiefly engaged in sheep rearing and carding. Additionally, this small town was a major transit centre for wine, which explains the fact that the barrel making industry flourished here.
